Went to see the Kobe Luminarie last Sunday. I havent seen the Luminarie since the last time I visited Kobe which was like 2 years ago. In 2006, I went on a Saturday so there were like tons of people there. In 2008, I went on a Sunday and although the number of people who went was lesser(471,000) than 2006's, there were still lots of people there.

However, this time round, we moved through the crowd pretty fast and in around one hour's time, we were already there! The theme for the Luminarie changes every year and this year, the theme's is Luce d' infinito. Initially, I thought that the lights would be the same as the ones I saw in 2006 but I was wrong! The structure was pretty different. =D

In 2006, I went to see it with my Hiroshima host family. In 2008, I went to see it with a few exchange and Japanese students. The feeling was totally different both times but both times, I went to see it towards the end of my stay in Japan. =(
Leslie, Robyn and Siao Kia posing for a photo in the middle of the walkway.

After squeezing through crowds and countless times of "Sumimasen", we finally reached the middle of the Luminarie! Whee~
Yuuka, Me, Alison.

Kanako, Me, Jean.

I'm not sure how many but there were only a few people posing for this photo intially but more people joined in the photo so we ended up having 7 people in the photo. Hehe, I was one of the ones who shamelessly added myself into the photo. Lalala~

After taking like dont-know-how-many-photos, we decided that we wanted to go buy some food from the little stalls there and we had to squeeze our way out. We made a chain of like 2 people(wtf) and tried our best not to block anyone who was taking photos. Then again, we laughed so much that some of them stopped taking photos and started staring at the two siao kias who were laughing like mad. =P Had a hard time deciding what to eat there.
Meat on skewers...Nah, too long a queue.
Takoyaki...Nah, nobody's in the queue so it's probably not good.
Baby Castella...Wanted to try it but forgot to do so in the end...wtf.
Kebabs...wtf?! 500yen?! No way man!
Wanton Mee...600yen for a miserable bowl of Wanton Mee that probably tastes nothing like the Wanton Mee I know? Nah.
After pondering for a long time, I decided I wanted Cheese Mochi and I'm so glad that I bought it. It was just so freaking delicious! In fact, after I bought it and let everyone take a little bite out of it, people started buying it. Hehe.

Hungry me bought Ika-yaki(squid) as well but it wasnt as good as I thought it would be. =( In 2006, because of time constraint, we only did Takarakuji(lottery) before heading home but in 2008, we had tons of time so we could try the food there~...and eat more at MacDonalds after the whole thing ended.

The humongous amount of rubbish there~ Kanako, Yuuka, Me and Neil posing with the rubbish bin...wtf.

As there were too many people there, we got separated and it was so hilarious when we were trying to find each other. Nobody knew where the other party was and it was so funny when Neil asked where Sogo was when it was right in front of him. In the end, we decided to meet at the easiest place to find...the train station...wtf. Haha.
